Meet the Team

  • Rachel

    Rachel has a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and is a writer and filmmaker. She has taught writing and composition as well as various subjects in history and religion at both UCSB and CUNY.

    Rachel got her start tutoring while in graduate school and has tutored Verbal SAT and ACT for over ten years. She also has extensive experience teaching students reading comprehension skills and also supporting them with writing the college essay.

    Rachel offers Writing Support, College Essay Writing, AP US History, AP Lang, and SAT/ACT Verbal Test Prep services.

  • Stephanie

    Stephanie has an undergraduate degree in English from Shepherd University and has enjoyed a robust career as a professional actor in commercial voiceover. Her own personal essays have been performed live in Listen to Your Mother in Northern NJ. She has worked as a consultant for comedy writers, playwrights and screen writers, and served as a beta reader for novels. Stephanie has a knack for helping to unlock a writer’s authentic voice and keen insight on how to refine a piece for maximum impact.

    Stephanie offers College Application and Application Submission package services, College Essay Writing as well as tutoring in ELA.

  • Emma

    Emma has a Bachelor's degree in mathematics and has completed training in teaching gifted and talented children. She has tutored privately in mathematics for grades 4-11 as well as test prep for ACT, SAT, and GMAT. She has spent seven years running "pull-out" math groups at the elementary level. She also provides expert guidance to students in grades 8-10 through the AVID program in her local school district, mentoring students in a number of subjects.

    Emma offers tutoring services in Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. In addition she offers test prep services for both Math and Verbal portions of the SAT and ACT.

  • Merry

    Meredith (who goes by "Merry") graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in business management. She was a four year member and captain of the varsity soccer team there, reaching the national championships during the Fall 2022 season.

    Merry now works as a Vehicle Systems Engineer in a rotational program at one of the big three automakers in Detroit, Michigan. 

    Merry offers tutoring in Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (regular and AP), and SAT preparation.

  • Grace

    Grace graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering and a minor in Polymers Science and Engineering. She was involved in the professional engineering fraternity during her time at CWRU. Grace was also a player and student coach for the varsity women’s soccer team all four years.

    Grace now works as a Product Development Engineer in the filtration industry in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Working at CTK continues to bring enjoyment to Grace.

    Grace offers SAT and ACT Test Prep for Math, as well as tutoring in Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus and Executive Functioning services.

  • Kate

    Kate is a graduate of University of Virginia in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience in the Neuroscience Distinguished Majors program. She currently works in clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital, and she hopes to pursue a career in medicine or neuropsychology. She has a joy for learning and loves working with students who do too!

    Kate offers SAT/ACT test prep for Math as well as tutoring in Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, AP US History and Executive Functioning support services.

  • Jordan

    Jordan is an Honors Student in the School of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan. He intends to major in Economics while completing a minor in Statistics.

    Jordan began tutoring in 2021 and has experience at the middle and high school levels.

    Jordan offers tutoring in the following subjects: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Calculus, Statistics, Psychology, US History, English I & II, Physics; AP Language & Composition, AP Calculus (AP & BC), AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AP Comparative Government & Politics, AP US History

  • Malachy

    Malachy is an undergraduate engineering student at Vanderbilt University. He comes to CTK with extensive tutoring experience across multiple subjects throughout his middle school and high school years.

    Malachy currently works as a teaching assistant in Calculus 1 and Multivariable Calculus, in which he leads weekly group sessions to review course material, assist students with problem sets, and help them prepare for exams.

    He is trained in equitable teaching as well as in strategies that can be used to help facilitate a positive learning environment.

  • Jos

    Jos offers counseling on UK university admissions, working with students to build a university list tailored to their needs, advising them on how to prepare for a specific course of study in the UK, including which AP exams to take and what scores will be required, as well as guiding students through the UCAS application, writing the personal statement, and preparing for Oxbridge interviews.
